Wendy Shay has been one of the most-criticised personalities in Ghana’s showbiz industry.
This has been the case of the singer and songwriter since she was introduced by RuffTown Records.
Despite the serial wallops, the ‘Stevie Wonder’ hitmaker has revealed that she has developed a tough skin over this.
She made this known in a recent interview with blogger GhKwaku.
According to her, Shatta Wale is one of the people who have been very helpful since her genesis in the music industry.
“I don’t have friends in the industry but I have people that have been really helpful to me and Shatta Wale is one of them. He has made a lot of impact on my life. Shatta Wale Has made me understand that I can fearlessly be myself without thinking about what people are going to say about me,” she said.
Explaining how the multiple award-winning Ghanaian reggae/dancehall musician has influenced her career, she noted that he has made her realise that if someone has done something before she can also make it happen. She also spoke about controversies.
“Since I met Shatta, he has made me also understand that, if somebody has done it then I can also do it because he’s very controversial and I’m also sometimes controversial but from the way he has maneuvered his way through, I can also pick up on that.”
Wendy Shay has worked with Shatta Wale on a number of projects.
She was one of the instrumental figures in the mediation process of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale‘s VGMA 2019 brawl.
