Sarkodie on Awards
Awards, whether necessary or not reaffirms the outstanding work done by artistes. One of Africa’s most decorated entertainers Sarkodie has reacted to how he feels now, after winning over 80 awards in his career as a musician.
According to the celebrated Ghanaian rapper, real name Michael Owusu Addo, he still feels young and hungry for more awards.
The VGMA 2019 ‘Artiste of the Decade’ made this revelation in an exclusive interview with Rev Erskine on Y 107.9 FM’s ‘Myd Morning’ show.
“I still feel young and hungry for more and when I was nominated I realised how long I have been in the game and also with those great people also in the nomination list,” he said.
“When I was announced I realised how far my works have gone,” he told Rev Erskine when reacting to the ‘Artiste of the Decade’ win.
Billed to perform at the forthcoming Music Magic Comedy Live concert on June 29, 2019 at the AICC, he also appealed to organsers to allow him perform first, so that he can enjoy performances from other acts.
“I like magic and comedy but I don’t get the opportunity to enjoy such performances because I usually end the show. This time around let me be the first to perform so I can enjoy the show especially the magic,” he appealed.
He also revealed that veteran comic-actor Agya Koo is his favourite Ghanaian comedian.
He recently released his ‘ALPHA‘ EP which is currently making some waves, especially ‘Bleeding‘, and ‘Odo‘ which features late musician Ebony Reigns.
