English side Liverpool FC are the champions of Europe after winning the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League for the sixth time.

It was a charged atmosphere at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, Spain on Saturday night when the Reds took on Tottenham Hotspur.

Goals from Mohammed Salah and Divock Origi in the 2nd and 87th minutes, respectively ensured they emerge champions.

It was the Egyptian who opened the score-sheet from the spot after Moussa Sissoko handled the ball in the penalty box.

Origi scored just 3-minutes to the end of regular play time when Tottenham failed to defend a James Milner corner kick well.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has described the win as “the best night of our professional lives.”

Liverpool FC are set to fly back to England ahead of their trophy parade on Sunday.

They will now face London-based Chelsea FC in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Besiktas Park in Istanbul, Turkey.
