The Winneba District Patrol team of the Ghana Police Service foiled a highway robbery attack on musician Patapaa and his crew.
The unfortunate incident happened at about 11.00pm on Monday, May 27, 2019 on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway in the Central region.
The team were returning to their base in Swedru following a performance at the 2019 Akpleza in the Volta regional capital, Ho.
The musician’s manager Freebody told Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM‘s Showbiz Agenda on Tuesday that the team was not the primary target, however, it was a general robbery on the highway, and they happened to be at the scene around the time.
He also noted that they were about eight (8) persons in the car including the musician, four (4) upcoming talents from Swedru, his P.A, as well as his security guy.
He revealed that the robbers shot into some of the cars and bolted with some belongings, but for quick intervention of Winneba Police Patrol teams, the story would have been different.
The crew upon realising Patapaa was in the car chauffeured the ‘One Corner’ hitmaker and team to their base in Swedru.
Freebody took to Facebook and wrote:
Thanks to #Ghana_Police_Service – Winneba Patrols to be precise for the rescue tonight, concerning a robbery incident on the Kasoa – Winneba Highway… Thank God for our lives and sorry to those whose cars and money were taken… Being alive is the most important thing
