The FIFA World Cup 2018 tournament in Russia is in the semi-final stage now following a successful quarter-final round of matches played during the week.
An all-Europe team have qualified for the next stage and they include Group G duo Belgium and England. The other teams include France and Croatia.
France won in their match against Uruguay, thanks to goals from Varane and Griezmann in the 40th and 61st minutes. The match was played at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium in Nizhny Novgorod.
This was followed by Belgium’s 2 – 1 win over South America side Brazil at the Kazan Arena, in Kazan before England defeated Sweden by 2 goals.
The only extra-time and penalty shoot-out match in the quarter-final stage was between host nation Russia and Croatia. Following the shoot-out the latter won on 3 – 4 against the former.
In this vein, the teams that have qualified to the semi-final stage of the 2018 FIFA World CUp tournament in Russia include France, Belgium, England, and Croatia.
