The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has elected new national executives to man the affairs of the party at a national delegates conference held on Saturday, July 7 in Koforidua, Eastern region.
The polls produced interesting and generally prospected results as Freddie Blay, John Boadu, Henry Nana Boakye and Sammi Awuku emerged victors in their respective positions.
In the chairmanship position, Freddie Blay polled 3,021 votes as against his closest contenders Stephen Ntim and Dr. Richard Amoako Baah‘s respective 2,515 and 18 votes.
John Boadu polled 4,277 votes in the General Secretary position as his main challenger Richard Ahiagbah also polled 1,274 votes.
In the National Organiser contest, Sammi Awuku beat his competitors Sulemana A. Sadik Nabicheinga and Emmanuel Tweneboah Kodua with 4,914 votes.
A former Accra Hearts of Oak management member, Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa was also elected as the National Nasara Coordinator, beating stiff competition from 13 others.
At the conference were the president of the Republic H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, his vice H.E. Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, ex-president H.E. John Agyekum Kufour, other party big-wigs, UK Conservative Party representative John Hayward and many more.
