Ms Margaret Dery, the reigning queen of Miss Ghana has shared her unpleasant experience with the beauty pageant, tagging it as a big scam.
According to the 2017 winner of the beauty pageant, it has been one of her “worse experiences” despite its glittering perception out there.
It was reported late last year that Ms Dery was being exploited by Inna Patty and Exclusive Events Ghana (owners of the Miss Ghana franchise). Although she kept silent during that period, the former seem to have had enough of what is happening. In effect, she finally took to social media microblog Twitter to register her displeasure.
She also took the opportunity to advise young ladies who are bent on joining the beauty pageant to have a second thought.
Being a miss Ghana queen has honestly been one of the worse experiences of my life, yeah,I know it looks good on the outside, but it’s just one big sham on the inside. All that glitters is not gold. Ladies, you don’t need a crown on your head to succeed.

“Being a miss Ghana queen has honestly been one of the worse experiences of my life, yeah,I know it looks good on the outside, but it’s just one big sham on the inside. All that glitters is not gold. Ladies, you don’t need a crown on your head to succeed,” she tweeted.
Ms Dery now joins former contestants like Stephanie Karikari (Miss Ghana 2010), Giuseppina Nana Akua Baafi (Miss Ghana 2013), Margaret Kuma-Mintah (Miss Ghana 2013 first-runner up), and Antoinette Delali Kemavor (Miss Ghana 2015) who have raised scandalous accusations against.
She also revealed that all her projects were funded by benevolent personalities while adding that the car given to her was not registered in her name.
“Any and all projects were funded by people I approached who decided to help out of the goodness of their hearts,no sponsorships ,no nothing..even the car is not in your name and you’re given only one key, just Incase they wanna take it back,” she replied a user.
“You can’t argue with ignorant people, they’ll drag you to their level and beat you with experience…the best to do is to ignore, let them believe what they want..like a friend said yesterday, it is only she that wears the crown that knows how heavy it is,” Dery replied another user.
From these revelations from past contestants which put Miss Ghana in a slew of scandals, many have called for a thorough investigation to the actions and inactions of Inna Patty and Exclusive Events Ghana.
