Reason Why Mzbel Doesnt Charge for Shows
Music, among all forms of art is considered a multi-billion cash industry and musicians charge substantially for the services they render.
However, Mzbel who was in times past, a force to reckon with in Ghana’s music industry has made a shocking disclosure; she does not charge for shows again.
The ‘Saucy Girl’ crooner told Zionfelix.net, although she has recorded a lot of songs now, she has a very limited time to push it out there.
“I’m not in active music as before. I record songs when I’ve time but if not, I’ll not worry myself over it. I’ve recorded a lot of songs but since I don’t have time, they are all stored for future release,” she said.
On charging for shows, she revealed she doesn’t do it but only perform at those that will also help her brand while adding that she only takes offers from event organisers.
“I like it if I get money from music but that is not my focus now. I’ve not been charging for shows in recent times. I just ask if the event is a good one which will help my brand and I also ask what the person can offer. If organiser’s quote is good, I’ll accept it,” she added.
Giving reasons to why she has taken the decision not to put a rate on her performance, she noted that it discourages people.
“At times charging discourages people so I wont charge but we will definitely need a refreshment when we come. If you can’t afford transport and refreshment then you are not serious,” she said.
Mzbel is currently promoting her new single ‘Tongues’ which was produced by Hydraulix Fonye.
