Jewel Ackah to be Buried on August 4
Late highlife musician Jewel Ackah will be buried on Saturday, August 4, 2018 in Axim, eFocusLive.com can confirm.
This was revealed by the family during the one (1) week celebration which was held over the weekend at the Sakasaka Park near the Tema Community 2 Police Station.
His interment will be preceded by a wake-keeping on Friday, August 3, before a thanksgiving ceremony on Sunday, August 5.
It was attended by key personalities in the Ghana music industry, mostly in the highlife fraternity.
The ceremony was also graced by former president of the Republic of Ghana H.E. John Dramani Mahama, among other political figures, mostly from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
They included, but not limited to the party’s Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Mr Joseph Ade Coker, Yaw Boateng-Djan, former National Organiser, Anita De Sosoo and Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, MP for Ellembele constituency.
The late musician who will forever be remembered for songs like ‘Kyere Mase’, ‘Abena’, and ‘Evil Man’ had a very productive career with over 27 albums to his credit.
Jewel Ackah started playing live dance band and played with the like of Elgrand Kwofie, C.K. Mann and Jos Akins.
In 1974, he recorded his first album ‘Gyaki Mea’ in the Nzema dialect which was a hit and won him several awards.
He joined the famous Sweet Beans Band and through hard work was called to lead the Sweet Talks in Tema.
He left behind six children.
